I’m a home cook who secretly wants to cook in a restaurant, but who also doesn’t have a competitive bone anywhere. I don’t like to be yelled at and I do not do well under pressure. Now you see what I mean?
I have a passion for fresh and delicious food and I love nothing better than a couple uninterrupted hours in the kitchen cooking up delicious dishes for family and friends! And of course I love to eat! I grew up in a family who also loves food and some phenomenal, but diverse cooks (my mom & both grandmothers for starters) who have helped fuel my passion for cooking & food over the years! My mom and I and my sisters are always looking for new ideas and sharing what we have learned with each other … as well as pictures of our tasty dishes! My siblings and I grew up with nutritious & amazing food and we all have fond memories of our favorite meals.
Many years ago I married a man who loves to eat, loves my food and encourages my creativity! He’s a southern, country boy (you can take the boy out of the south, but you can’t take the south out of the boy). I’ve learned about so many comforting, delicious southern delicacies from his family. Since being married I have come to appreciate classic southern food and love to make it my own.
I am an adventurous eater and I love a culinary challenge (just ask me about deviled eggs … now I know why they are called that). I grew up with lots of Asian & Mexican flavors, fresh seafood & we grilled everything all year long! I love almost all vegetables and fruits and will try anything once (and some things I will never repeat). I also love food that is fresh & simple and I love to learn about cultures and their cuisine. I want to eat my way through everywhere!
